Birmingham City Council to Join the National Parking Platform

The National Parking Platform (NPP) is delighted to announce that Birmingham City Council will be joining the platform, marking another major milestone in the NPP’s continued growth across the UK.

As one of the country’s largest local authorities and a globally recognised city, Birmingham joining the NPP represents an exciting step forward in making parking simpler, more flexible and more connected for drivers. By joining the NPP, Birmingham City Council will enable motorists to use the parking app of their choice wherever they see the NPP symbol, helping deliver a more seamless parking experience for residents and visitors alike.

Birmingham’s participation further strengthens the growing national movement towards open, interoperable parking infrastructure that gives public and private parking operators greater flexibility while improving convenience for drivers.

Sarah Randall, Interim CEO of the National Parking Platform, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Birmingham City Council to the National Parking Platform. Birmingham is a hugely important city and its decision to join the NPP is another strong sign of the momentum building behind a more connected and customer-focused future for parking.

The NPP is all about giving drivers greater choice and making parking simpler, while supporting local authorities with more flexible and future-ready infrastructure. We are excited to work alongside Birmingham City Council as they become part of the growing national network.”

Craig Evans, Head of Parking Services at Birmingham City Council, said:

“Birmingham City Council is pleased to be joining the National Parking Platform, supporting an improved experience for residents and visitors by making parking payments simpler, more flexible and easier to access across the city.”
